Adding an LMxAC.org Email Address to Outlook (or Other Email Client)

LMxAC.org email accounts can be accessed through webmail.jerseyconnect.net.  They can also be accessed through email client software such as Microsoft Outlook, Mozilla Thunderbird, and others.

Please follow the instructions below to configure your account in the client; they were made with screenshots from Microsoft Outlook, but the process is similar with other email clients.  JerseyConnect also provides technical connection information for advanced users.

Configuring Email Clients to Work with LMxAC.org Email Accounts

Step 1: Add a new account




Step 2. Choose the manual setup option




Step 3. Choose POP3 or IMAP setting




Step 4. Enter Account Details

Add your name and email address, then choose POP3 or IMAP.  (Which one should you use?)  Enter webmail.jerseyconnect.net as your incoming and outgoing mail server.  Enter your full email address and password in the logon information section.

If you want Outlook to remember your password, click the checkbox indicating this.  Otherwise, you will be prompted in every session the first time that Outlook checks for new mail or sends outgoing mail.

It is highly recommended that you test your account settings at this point to make sure that everything has been entered correctly.

Click More Settings.



Step 5.  Name the Account

In the General tab, give this mail account a name.



Step 6. Outgoing Server

In the Outgoing Server tab, click the checkbox identifying that the outgoing server (STMP) requires authentication, and then click the radio button to Use same settings as my incoming mail server.



Step 7.  Server Port Numbers

In the Advanced tab, enter the incoming and outgoing server port numbers:

IMAP: 995 (or)
POP3: 993
If using IMAP, choose SSL from the drop down menu of encrypted connections.
If using POP3, click the checkbox to indicate that this server requires an encrypted connection (SSL).


SMTP: 465
If using IMAP, choose SSL from the drop down menu of encrypted connections, then confirm that your SMTP port remains 465.
If using POP3, we recommend that you click the checkbox to leave a copy of messages on the server.  That way, you will still have access to your messages even when you sign in to your account from another computer.



Step 8.  Finish

Click OK and complete the setup.  Your email client should now connect to the server and display your emails and folders.
